Excellent pair of Boots These are a well made, durable pair of boots. I’ve had mine for two and a half years now. Hard to find in retail stores, but in my opinion, one of the best boot manufacturers around. I’m looking for a second pair just because and the only brand I want is Frye.

My woman worships these boots. I got rid of my Doc Martens for these Fryes and my girl went nuts. She makes me wear them all of the time and oooh what she does to me when I wear them. She even made me keep them on in bed once. GET THESE BOOTS!

These are some cool boots! I am a boot nut, and always dug the style of these, and wanted Fryes because I heard the quality was the best. They are darn hard to find in retail stores. I bought a pair of 13D and the fit is beautiful for my foot. I have a narrowish foot but am wide across the ball so a lot of times boots either slip on my heel or squeeze my toes. These don’t. Nice snug fit. Heavy boot but very supple the way it feels on yoru foot. I can walk all day in these and my feet don’t fatigue near as bad as any other boot I own. Get lots of comments on these, all with the word COOL in there somewhere. These fit great, feel awesome, are bulletproof, and I wear mine all the time. I’m 6′6″ and would like a shorter heel, but will just replace the ones have when it needs it with shorter ones. I’m a BIG FAN of Frye boots. Excellent quality and workmanship.

Excellant Christmas Present - I bought the boots for my boyfriend for Christmas. He fell in love with the boots. He said that they are extremely comfortable and knows they will last at least a decade!

These were my first pair in years and could not be happier. I’ve worn them a total of about 5 days and they feel broken in already. I’m very happy with my purchase and the service from Zappos.

Great for the money - Look good and comfortable 2 hours out of the box. They made my feet tired after walking around mall for 3 hours, but they’re also brand new and my first new pair in 20 years. My heel never slipped after 30 minutes of wearing them. I think after a year or so these will be like old jeans, and for this price, you can’t go wrong.

Harness boots still RULE! Got my new harness boots (Gaucho) from Zappos, and they feel like my first pair. My first were bought in 1969 and lasted through 2 resoling and 3 heels, lasting until the mid 80’s. These new boots are lacking the leather lining of my originals, making donning them a real challenge. (NOTE, the boot straps are not just for looks! Use them.) However, the finsh on these new boots are far more superior, making them feel as supple as a well worn boot. The squared off toes are a real great feature, if you think “cowboy” boots pinch toes you’ll be surpised with these, lots of room! I may save up for the Campus boots now. I’m still flexing my feet in wonder at the feeling, they look so great, can’t wait to try them in bed. Oh yeah, and I’m a full 2 inches taller, look out world!

Great Leather Used - The leather used to make these boots is of fine quality. It is soft and heavy and hardly no break-in time. I am very happy with the looks and colour and Zappos is always a pleasure to deal with!

Superb right out of the box - These felt broken in right out of the box and they remain some of the most comfortable boots I’ve ever owned. Great fit and finish - a well-made boot. Lots of compliments from friends and strangers, but more importantly, these are boots that just fit and feel right.

Not just for guys! I wear size 12 women’s and the 10.5 was perfect. I was afraid that the toe would be too narrow and pinch the ball of my foot, but after a few wearings they conformed very nicely to my feet and now even accommodate my arch supports. I gave these 4 stars in comfort because there’s zero arch support in them, but otherwise they’re perfect. Tons of classic attitude without being too over-the-edge; they even look good with dress pants, if I polish them up and hide the harness a little.

No Doubt About It - I had my eye on these boots for three months and when I finally got them I was more than satisfied! Although they could be a bit more comfortable if you have to stand in them for hours at a time, as far as boots go, they fit well and they look as good with a pair of slacks and a sport coat as they do with a pair of jeans. I love the history behind the Frye boot, and the retro stylings of these in particular (I’ve had several people say, “I had boots like that in the seventies!”), and everywhere I go people compliment the boots. The strap and harness really does a lot to give the boot character and has the added benefit of making the toe look smaller than it is, so people with larger feet (12+) should be able to wear the boot without it looking like a clown shoe. All in all, these are beautiful, well-made boots that get attention and get the job done as well.

six years - I’ve been wearing a pair of these for about six years now and I can definately Qualfy these as well made long wearing boots. I wear them 90% of my non working hours and with occasional applications of mink oil they have held up very well(I can still shine them up and wear them with a suit!(rare occasion). I mainly got these for riding (motorcycle) but as they are quite comfortable I wear them almost all the time. I’ve had them resoled twice the only problem I’ve had is the harness which has stretched out and hangs down near the heal . I will be getting a new pair soon and will probably get Frye’s belted harness boot (it has a belt buckle on the harness and can be tightened) for that reason.

The perfect harness boot - I wore the first pair for almost 5 years, replacing only the heels. These are comfortable, durable, good-looking boots, and they’re the only harness boots I can find that look exactly the way they should. I wouldn’t trade the Frye version for any other that I’ve seen.

City Kickers - These boots are the real deal version of what high-end designers are recreating as vintage and charging 500 bucks for. They are surprisingly comfortable, not too hard to put on, and the rubber sole adds traction. Quite versatile, wear ‘em on the bike or in the city.

Service plus - I take a 14 shoe ordered a 14 Frye harness boot but was to big . Returned to Zappos and recieved a size 13 within 5 days no questions asked. Service an a plus…boots are well-made and comfortable to wear all day–would purchase this product again.

Frye Harness 12R - I’m a 10.5 M and the boot I received is uncomfortably small. I’m not sure if it will loosen up or not. I may need to try to condition them in order to speed the process. It’s too bad I wasn’t able to try them on before purchasing them.

Good Investment! I LOVE these boots! I got the wheat color which is a great neutral tone that already looks broken in…they go with everything and I’ve already gotten a lot of compliments on them!~ The representative was so helpful she helped me exchange for another pair that was too small and I got these 2 days later!

Great boots, 1/2 size small. I normally wear a size 12R, but the 11 1/2 W fits better than any other boot I have ever bought. It looks and feels great. I had to do one exchange to get the right size, and this was fantastically easy. One phone call was all it took. In fact, Zappos sent the new boots 2nd day air before I sent the originals back.

Long Lasting and Good Looking - I have had a pair of these boots for 7 years. I bought them because my dad had a pair from the 70s and I out grew them. I have recieved a compliment on them almost every time I have worn them. They are like slippers they are so comfortable (once you’ve worn them in). The sole lasted about 5 years before needing to be replaced. I would recommend these to anyone.

A little narrower than expected - These Frye Boots are so awesome! They are very well made and look so retro cool. My husband has a wide foot, so I got him a WIDE pair that were a 1/2 size larger than his normal size…they are still a little too snug, but with thin socks will eventually be OK. If you have a high instep, they are a bit difficult to get on, but BOY IS IT WORTH THE TROUBLE!!!

Boots & Services - First, the boot…this is one good looking boot. I got the wheat, which is uniquely attractive because of its texture of color tones due to its light shade. Fits great. I’ve only had these for three days and each day the boot feels better as it loosens up. I give comfort a five (knowing it will get there). Now the service…and that is where this company excels (as far as I am concerned). I originally placed my order with Zappos Dec. 10 and received an out of stock message stopping the order (during the order process, which is nice) and I indicated that I wanted to know when the boot was in stock (also a nice option). But then I got anxious and ordered the boot from another company (same day 12/10). Big mistake. The next week, having heard nothing from this other company, I asked for a status. It was getting ready to ship they said. Well, making a long story short, this conversation (give me a status�it�s getting ready to ship) went on until Jan. 3rd when they told me that my order was in backorder status and did I want to cancel. I never wanted anything more. Meantime, about Dec. 15th Zappos had emailed me that the boots were in stock if I would like to order them now. And of course I had already begun my odyssey with that other outfit. Now, back to Jan. 3rd�following the cancellation of my backordered order and free to order again, I did so with Zappos. Bingo�the order went through, meaning the boot was in stock. Timing was right to get free shipping, then I was notified that the shipping was upgraded (I�m sure just because it was me), and I received my boots on Jan. 5th. That�s right, ordered the third, received the fifth. So, am I happy with Zappos? Absolutely! Do I like the boots? Absolutely!

Great Pair of Boots - Order was received about 16 hours after I ordered them, most impressive. The boots are good looking, well fitting and the comfortable boot that I have ever worn. My only issue with them is that leg of the boot is so wide that its hard to fit boot cut jeans over them.

Frye boots worth the money - Just received a pair of the Harness boots in the gaucho color. They look and fit great right out of the box. I had a pair of Frye Campus boots about 20 years ago and wore them everyday for years. So when I decided to get a new pair of boots, I went back to Frye. They may cost more than some, but Frye knows how to make boots. And Zappo’s can’t be beat for service and selection. Highly recommended.

Great Boot - Went to a local store, out of stock - won’t get my size in for weeks. Went to Zappo’s, had the boot on my foot in 2 days. My feet are hard to fit (my left is larger than my right), but this boot is well within the comfort margin I can accept - short break-in time, very comfortable, etc. They look great with a variety of jeans and pants. No complaints.

Sizing issues - These boots look great, the leather is really good quality, etc. The only problem is the sizing. I wear a full size 15 in most brands but my foot was swimming in these, I am going to send them back an try a 14, hope that will work. Zappos is really great about returns/exchanges, so it shouldn’t be a problem.

Just like old times! All I can say is that if you’re searching for the perfect pair of harness boots, then stop where you are and order these now! Just order a half size smaller than you normally wear. Back when I was in high school, we were all wearing Frye Harness Boots, and just to be a “Rebel” most of us wore them without socks…which is unusual I know, but they were quite comfortable this way. Also the frowns we got from our moms when they saw us pulling them on barefoot just added to the thrill. Anyway, 20 years later I found that Fryes are still available and just had to re-live the past. They are still well-made with about a 2 hour break-in and are still the most comfortable boots I’ve ever worn! The only difference between then and now is that it’s my wife that gives me funny looks as I still refuse to wear socks with them! Ryan

fabulous boots you need! These boots are way better than you expect–the inner soles are padded in a way that is superior to any other boot. There is no breaking in, they are immediately comfortable and fit your foot perfectly. They also are very good looking with jeans.

Not bad but!! Everything went real smooth until I did a return for a different size and thats when things went bad. I was pretty happy to get my exchange order so quick and was delighted with a perfect fit but not so thrilled about recieving two left boots. This really wasn’t so bad once I explained how my dad had two left feet and my mom had two right feet and naturally I ended up with a right and left. So, in short all worked out well.

Outstanding! I had not owned a pair of non-lace up boots in quite a while. I ordered these in a wide as I have slightly wide feet and also flat feet. They were here in 2 business days! Quicker than expected, and I received emails updating me on my order status as well. These boots are extremely comfortable from day one, and are great looking on top of that. I will buy Fryes again, and I will get them from Zappos most definitely! I hope that the Calvary model becomes available in wide (PLEASE!!!!!).
The Gaucho color is perfect.

Great, classic boot. Minor fabrication issues. I’m generally pleased with the Frye harness boot purchase I made from zappos–a great looking boot with a classic design. Zappos shipped this item for free and it arrived several days ahead of its expected arrival date. The fit on these boots is terrific and I am sure I will enjoy them for years to come. For the price, however, I expected more attention to the detail in the construction of the boots. The stitching near the collar of the boot is a little irregular and inexact. Hardly an issue that would prevent me from making a similar purchase in the future.

Instantly a classic boot in my day to day activities - So, I decided to give this brand a shot due to the fact that the Carolina engineer boots I wear daily for motorcycling have reached a nice ripe age of over 13 years. Don’t get me wrong the Carolinas still feel fantastic but I itched for something more. These have filled that desire very nicely. Pulling them on I am immediately taken by their great fit. They required just a few hours of wear on a warm day to feel just right. Also through the break-in period I noticed that they have an outstanding sole compound giving great traction and feel. No slip and slide in these boots. My toes are in contact with the forefoot area’s upper leather but it is becoming less and less of an issue everyday. A great boot and good example of you get what you pay for.

What Boots Are Supposed to Be - Not my first pair of boots, but my first Fryes. These boots are so comfortable, well-made and sturdy that I don’t anticipate needing to buy another pair for a long time. Excellent workmanship, the kind you don’t see often these days. Highly recommended. (I think they look pretty cool, too.)

Its about Service, Service, Service and Zappos has got all 3. Not only do they honor the 110% guarantee but they will even beat it by offering better shipping alternatives to get the product to you faster than the competition. The Sales Staff have been trained to take initiatives that make good business sense when dealing with the customer; something that seems to have been overlooked in most businesses. As for the Frye boots, well they are well made, true to fit and comfortable to wear and have a great look.

Great find and great buy - I was so very pleased to find this boot because in 2005 I really wanted this boot but the price tag was $450.00 I was very disapppointed and decided that I really didn’t need the boot. I was thrilled to find the same boot on your site and the price was perfect for my budget. Thank you so much for making my day.

These boots are great. This is my first pair of Frye boots but it definitely will not be the last. New boots are usually a little stiff but these are comfortable to wear right out of the box. The service from Zappos was also excellent.

I got this shoe in the Gaucho color, and absolutely love it. It took some getting used to, since it’s a very high boot with more of a heel than I’m used to, but it’s very comfortable. Felt a bit narrower than most shoes initially, but loosened up after a day of wearing them around. Definitely love the look, and definitely recommend this shoe! Seems like great quality and that it will last forever!

My new Frye’s - The look and color of the boot were better than expected. The size didn’t really match my usual size worn. I hope with more wear and breaking in, the boots will become more comfortable.

From Ruth, in Denver, CO - I bought these as a holiday gift for my partner. He just LOVES them! He has worn them all over, everywhere we have gone, since he got them. He says they are totally comfortable and a real pleasure to wear. AND he is a Birkenstock man! I am just happy that we’ve had cold enough weather for boots.
