I’ve looking for these boots for over twenty years. When I saw that Frye had them, I purchased a pair. I was not disappointed with the look or the feel. They fit and look great. I’ll be buying the other two colors.
Git down wid da git down – Frye makes the best-looking, quality boots. I own several pairs of Frye boots, some I’ve had for years. This particular pair is my favorite. Very masculine. No frills. Very comfortable. Can’t be found in stores easily.
I bought my first pair of Frye Campus boots when I was poor and in college in 1973. I have only needed to buy several pair in the last 30 years. I have every color and wear only Frye boots. Perfect for every occaison. I am a professional now and frequently receive positive comments about my boots.
As the first pair of Frye’s I’ve ever owned, the construction is excellent; the leather is absolutely soft, true to size and width with little heel slippage. The colors are fantastic, and the styling is excellent with every color of jeans available. Based on everything I see and feel, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy these boots. Great job Frye!
Not happy! I bought these boots for my husband. He had a pair when he was younger and always wanted a pair like them. He only wore them once and that was enough. They hurt his feet so much and I can’t return them because he wore them. So I’m not happy with the boots and they were over priced.
Frye’s are made of great quality leather. Very comfortable too. They didn’t even appear to need a break-in period. I’ve now got two pairs. I get great compliments on them and asked where I got them.
Super Boots! I have two pairs: Black and Medium Brown. These are the best boots available by Frye. I wear them (to work) with suits and ties as well as jeans. And I have steel horseshoe taps on the heels; they make a really good sound, and add to the excitement of wearing tall boots. I believe in taking the best care of boots that I can; I keep them shined up. Distinctive, noticeable footwear is an important part of one’s image. I hope that Frye doesn’t ever stop making these boots.
Frye’s Campus 14L – my opinion – First of all these are hard boots to find, I searched the internet for a week searching for a good price. Then I found them, but couldnt find them in bananna, except at Zappos. Not only did they have the color I wanted, but they were at my door in 2 days! The boots fit perfectly. I have a 7.5 foot and was original. Worried that they would run big. They were true to size. They look great with skirts and are very durable and well made. They are worth every penny I spent on them! Seems like they will last forever…out of all the western boots out there, I belive these are the type that goes with everything. Next time I will try buying the shorter ones to wear with jeans.
A great boot from a great web store – Fantastic service and price from Zappos. I needed a comfortable motorcylce riding boot with a little higher than normal heel…and they had the boot…Frye’s Campus…the only recommendation I would have to improve the boot… is to have an a rubber sole. Other than that, you can’t go wrong with this boot for looks, comfort and value.
Long wearing boots! These boots last “forever”. I purchased them to replace a pair which I bought in 1976. The boots themselves were still in solid condition, although I had had them re-heeled at least three times. They were just toe scuffed beyond good looks so I needed the new pair. Highly recommended!
My second pair of Fryes – I purchased the Frye belted harness a week ago and was so impressed I had to try the campus boot. It took a week to convince my wife I needed them. I like them even more. They’re a softer leather so don’t panic if they seem a little snug. You don’t want them any bigger. They mold to your feet. I ordered them yesterday and they were here today. The UPS driver was amazed. He kept looking at the label shaking his head. Great service again.
Poor Quality – Wore them for two months. These 14″ boots are square-top with no V-relief, murder on shins, and these stayed stiff. Then they started squeaking and clicking. Can’t return to Zappos if you actually _wear_ the boots, instead of just walking on carpet. Took them to a local boot shop, they told me the shank was broken or loose. I called Frye, they were helpful. Had me return the first pair (they didn’t offer to pay shipping), then they sent me a second pair. Well, the shank on one of the second pair clicked too. And one boot was much tighter than the other. Called Frye again, again I paid for return shipping(!). This time I gave up and told them to send me a different model, obviously the Campus line was a mess. They sent me the 12″ Harness boots. These were better quality, but — they are _much_ heavier than the Campus, they have rubber instead of leather soles (I far prefer leather), the soles are very thick and protrude way past the boot, heels are square and chunky… not a replacement for the Campus for sure. No more Frye boots for me.
Good Looking Boots – Unbelieveble service with free shipping, real quick. The boots look awesome and I after try them on I’m very satisfied. The best western boots I ever had because the don’t look too “COWBOYISH”. Thank you Zappos very much.
I bought these boots for my husband, since he still talks about the pair of Fryes he owned once upon a time. He loves them, they fit great, are comfortable, he claims they’ve only gotten better. I own a pair as well, and have to admit, Fryes are worth the money.
“Comfort, Looks & Style” I am a die hard fan of Fryes boots. Although I only owned a pair before. And this story is true. My work boots got stolen in my locker. Look around and found a pair of Frye boots in the dumpster tried it and it fit. Been wearing the same boots ever since, and I love it. That was 12 years ago.

These campus 14L boots are hard to find. They are really great boots. When you put them on, you feel like you are wearing a part of American history.
